All Chicken Coop Kits (Sales Event)

A chicken coop is where your birds are going to spend their nights and also where they will lay their eggs. While some may linger around a bit during the daytime, most of your chickens will prefer to head outside into the fresh air. As such, it's an extremely good idea to also have a well-protected area outside for them to forage, such as a chicken run.

Most coops are sold as chicken coop kits that aren't all that difficult to put together. If you want it all done for you, we have fully assembled chicken coops available, as well.

Why these chicken coop brands?

We have selected the best brands for different categories of chicken coops:

  • OverEZ® - Super high quality chicken coops, customized the way you want them. All are delivered in kit form and can be assembled with just a hand-drill within 30 minutes. These are our best-sellers because they give you the most bang for your buck!
  • Rugged Ranch™ - Premium chicken coops & chicken runs that are made to last. Their products cover flocks from 1 chickens up to 10 chickens and all products include a 30 day warranty against manufacturing defects.
  • Snap Lock - By far, the lowest maintenance, easiest to assemble coops on the market. They won't house as many chickens as the competition. But if you have a smaller flock and are looking for "easy", look no further.
  • Emmett Star Chicken Coops™ - Our economy line of chicken coops. If you're a newbie and not sure if this is for you, start off with a cheaper chicken coop before you make a big investment.

Chicken Coop FAQs

What Size Chicken Coop Do I Need?

The answer to that question is a little more complicated than you may think. It depends on the kind of chickens you are raising, the number of birds, whether or not they are all hens, the number of nesting boxes, the roosting area and whether or not there is a chicken coop attached.

Whether you only have 1-5 birds or your are looking for an assembled chicken coop or chicken coop kit for 10-15 chickens or even 20 chickens, we have the size that you need, as long as you know what size you really need!

Fortunately, our Chicken Coop Buyer's Guide answers all of those questions (and more). If you just need to know the basics about how large a coop needs to be for your number of chickens, check out our other guide - How Many Square Feet Per Chicken?

What Features Should I Look For in a Chicken Coop?

Other than all of the minimum requirements mentioned in our Buyer's Guide, you should also make sure that chicken doors and any access points can be securely latched or locked.

You may also be interested in adding things like automatic chicken doors so that you don't always have to open and shut them, electrical/heating packages and wheels. Only some chicken coop brands (namely OverEZ®) have the ability to add these things if they don't already have them.

Also, whether or not a chicken coop has a chicken run made specifically for it is an important consideration. When a chicken run does not fit snugly with its coop, it leaves gaps for predators to take advantage of. Every chicken coop on this website that has a chicken run made specifically for it has that chicken run listed in the available options section, above the Add to Cart button.

Finally, you should consider how easy a chicken coop will be to clean. Ones made out of plastic or that have cleaning trays that slide out are a little easier to clean than ones that do not. Some are walk-in chicken coops that you can stand up in, allowing you to clean every nook and cranny - just like you were cleaning your own home!

I Don't See a Chicken Run Made Specifically for My Chicken Coop. What Should I Do?

While there may not be a run designed specifically for your chicken coop, Rugged Ranch makes two different "universal" chicken runs that have knock-out panels that enable them to be used with most chicken coops. The shorter one is the Rugged Ranch™ 7' x 8' x 4' Universal Welded Wire Pen and the taller one is the Rugged Ranch™ 7.5' x 6.5' x 6.25' Universal Walk-In Pen.

What does it cost to ship a chicken coop to my home?

Because we've negotiated great rates with major shipping logistics companies, we cover the shipping so all products on ChickenCoopHQ.com include free standard ground shipping within the contiguous USA. If you live outside of mainland USA, please contact us for a custom quote on what the "out of area" fee would be to ship to your location.

Certain products include an option for a "liftgate delivery" service charge. It is well worth it for most folks just to avoid the hassle of unloading and placing the coop where they want it all by themselves. If this option is not on a product you're interested in, that means that it is either delivered via UPS or FedEx or the liftgate is already included with your delivery by default.
