A close cousin to the original Quaker coop, the Horizon Structures™ Quaker Combo Coop has a similar look but includes an attached, covered chicken run. The shingle roof seamlessly joins the chicken run to the coop (which makes it great for inclement weather days), combining convenience and practicality into one neat and attractive package.
Additional space is available under the coop for foraging or resting in the shade and you'll feel confident, knowing your flock is safely confined from the time they emerge from the coop in the morning until they retire there are night; however, there is a narrow opening at the bottom on each end, so please take precautions to protect your hens from animals capable of burrowing in from below by selecting the Add a Wire Floor to Your Run option above the Add to Cart button.
The roof line maximizes head room inside both the chicken coop and the attached chicken run - the run itself is about 6' x 6' and more than 8' high. That's over 280 cubic feet of outdoor space for your birds! The lockable side door on the run is large enough for you to step inside for cleaning or tending your birds, too. You can, however, reach all areas of the coop with a broom without having to enter the coop at all.
Don't forget the area under the coop! The Quaker Combo Coop sits about 15" above the ground on sturdy 4 x 4 pressure-treated wood legs. This provides even more foraging space for your hens. Just like the run, this area is enclosed by vinyl coated mesh.
Horizon Structures™ Quaker Combo Coop's four nest boxes, which your hens will instinctively share, are easily accessible without ever having to go inside the coop. Just lift the hinged lid and gather up your eggs. There is no need to secure the lid in place - it won't drop unexpectedly. Each one of the nesting boxes is approximately 12 " x 12" with a wooden sill in front to help keep nesting materials (and eggs or chicks!) inside. The nest box frame and dividers are a single unit that is not permanently attached to the coop. This allows you to move it out of the way when cleaning is needed.
Two sturdy wooden roosts are mounted directly across from the nest boxes. The upper bar is approximately 9" away from the wall and 24" from the floor. The lower bar is about 16" from the back wall and 20" from the floor. The distance between the roost bars is roughly 7".
The Horizon Structures™ Quaker Combo Coop has two large windows that have glass panes at both the top and the bottom. You can raise the lower pane from inside the coop to allow fresh air inside through its outer screen. Vinyl coated wire mesh that is fastened securely to the coop's exterior covers the screened portion of each window, keeping your flock safe from predators.
A hinged ventilation panel in the Horizon Structures™Quaker Combo Coopallows your chickens to get plenty of fresh air and sunshine. Simply open the drop vent/window panel to increase ventilation. A handy latch seals it tight, keeping wind, rain and snow out. A Vinyl-coated wire mesh keeps predators out when the panel is open.
The chicken door is located just below the roost bars and comes with a wooden ramp for bird's easy access from coop to run and back again. You can latch it closed from inside the run.

Important note about residential deliveries:
All Horizon Structures™ Chicken Coops are custom made and pre-built, meaning there is no assembly required on your part (Note: Chicken Runs ARE NOT pre-built so you do have a minimal amount of effort assembling those). The trucks back up to your prepared site and place the coop precisely where you want it.
Horizon Structures™ uses an F550-type truck. Their trailers range from 24' - 48' in size giving them the flexibility to transport several pre-built coops and a variety of add-ons.
The normal delivery process works like this:
Building arrives at your property
Driver backs up to your prepared site
The trailer is raised, using a hydraulic system, to enable the building to slide off the back.
Using a winch, built in to the trailer, the driver moves the building about 1/3 down the length of the trailer so that the end is resting on the ground.
Next, the driver slowly pulls forward allowing the rest of the building to slide off the trailer and into position.
In the event that the building needs to be aligned or re-positioned, the trailers come equipped with a platform on the back. With the back of the building on the ground and the front resting on this platform, the building can be shifted up to 2' to the left or to the right before being placed completely on the ground.
Finally, all doors and windows are checked to make sure they operate properly and are not stuck or jammed due to the building being off level or any twisting of the building during set-up.
In order to deliver the coop, please ensure that your coop site is accessible:
Please make sure that there is access over a driveway or across relatively level, solid ground to the area you want your coop to be placed.
Provide adequate clearance around any trees, plantings or other structures on the property.
If they can drive straight onto your property, any fence opening or gate needs to be at least 12 feet wide.
Overhead clearance should to be 14'.
50' to 60' minimum drive-away area from the end of the shed after it comes off the end of the trailer. This should be as level as possible from pad site to ground level.
IMPORTANT: If your site does not meet those requirements, Horizon Structures™ still may be able to deliver as long as they know ahead of time to equip the truck with their "Mule Delivery System". Please call us if you are in doubt!
Here's how it works:
If you are at all unsure whether or not the truck and trailer will have suitable access to your property, we ask that you call Horizons Structures™ directly at 1-888-44-SHEDS to discuss the details with their scheduler. You can also email pictures or fax them a diagram (with measurements) of your property showing the layout and features of your site. They are usually able to make a determination about whether or not delivery is feasible or if you should have your structure built on-site.
Please review the Shipping & Returns tab, above, for further information regarding your Horizon Structures™ chicken coop shipment, such as how deliveries are scheduled.

Because all Horizon Structures™ coops are custom made, they typically take approximately 4 weeks to ship (sometimes a bit longer, sometimes a bit shorter). Please be sure that you read the Special Note About Residential Deliveries in the main product description.
Deliveries are normally made Monday - Friday between the hours of 7am and 6pm. While it is difficult to give an exact time, Horizon Structures™ can usually tell you if your building will be arriving in the morning or the afternoon.
There are several ways to schedule your delivery:
You can request "delivery as soon as possible" and Horizon Structures™ will contact you a few days prior to delivery to confirm a suitable date and get directions to your property. PLEASE NOTE: This is the default delivery option and unless we hear from you otherwise, this is how delivery will be handled.
You can request a specific date. Sometimes Horizon Structures™ is able to commit shortly after time of order; however, they may call you closer to the requested date to confirm.
If you are having your site prepared, you can leave the delivery date "open" and give us a call when you are ready to schedule. At that time, we can usually arrange delivery within about 7-10 days.
Horizon Structures™ reserves the right to reschedule deliveries due to inclement weather or periods of extended rain in order to avoid endangering our drivers and equipment or damaging your building or property. Please call Horizon Structures™ directly at 1-888-44-SHEDS to reschedule delivery if your ground is soft and you believe their truck and trailer would damage your property or make delivery exceptionally difficult for the driver.
